The Maricopa County Department of Emergency Management and the American Red Cross will open a Reception and Care Center (RCC) outside the affected area. Officials will direct evacuees to the RCC over radio and television.
At the RCC, a radiological monitoring station will be established by the Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency to monitor evacuees. The American Red Cross will register people for the shelter portion of the RCC and the Maricopa County Department of Public Health will be available to dispense potassium iodide (KI) tablets for those individuals who may have been exposed to any radioactive iodine released from PVNGS.
Maricopa County Animal Care and Control and the Arizona Humane Society will be available to assist with temporary shelter of your pets when you arrive at the Reception and Care Center.
