Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is governed by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. The statutory authority for MCDOT’s work is derived primarily from Titles 11 and 28 of the Arizona Revised Statutes. MCDOT’s work is largely governed by the transportation laws of the State of Arizona (Arizona Revised Statues Title 28).

The Transportation Advisory Board acts as the citizens’ board that reviews Transportation regulatory amendments.

Maricopa County Department of Transportation is responsible for drafting and amending regulations related to County road standards, development impacting County roads, and work within County right-of-way.
