MC85 is a high-volume east-west trucking route to the west of the Phoenix metropolitan area. MCDOT is working on several projects along MC 85 between 75th Avenue and 107th Avenue to increase capacity, improve safety and make roadway operations more efficient.
The Northern Parkway project extends 12.5 miles between Loop 303 and US 60 (Grand Avenue) in northwestern Maricopa County. When completed, Northern Parkway will be a high capacity, limited access roadway with overpasses at major intersections. The project is a partnership between Maricopa County, the Cities of El Mirage, Glendale and Peoria, and the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG).
Olive Avenue is a significant thoroughfare for residents and travelers in the western part of Maricopa County. With its prominent roadway connections to SR Loop 303 and SR Loop 101, traffic projects for Olive Avenue in the west valley are expected to increase over the next 20 years. MCDOT is moving forward with several projects along Olive Avenue in this area to increase capacity, improve safety and make roadway operations more efficient.
The Riggs Road Corridor is one of MCDOT’s longest corridor projects, incorporating five projects along one corridor. In partnership with the Towns of Gilbert and Queen Creek, the seven plus mile corridor will create new travel and turn lanes, drainage modifications and traffic safety upgrades.
