I will be laser focused over the next year and a half on doing what it takes to run good elections. People should be able to vote when and how they want. The Board’s investment in new technology will allow us a faster, accurate vote count, while a partnership with the Recorder’s Office and a Board point person inside the Elections Department will ensure effective, bipartisan oversight of this essential right.
We need to provide real second chances to people in our jail system. I have supported programs as a Board member and as a businessman that provide people coming out of our jail system job skills and housing opportunities so those willing to work for it can transition back into the community effectively. This is good for our economy and public safety.
